Open Safari on your iPhone
Other browsers like Chrome or Firefox cannot install web apps on iOS. You must use Safari for this step. (Once installed, you can use anything you want.)

Go to app.gcrsentinel.com
Type the URL into the address bar, or scan the QR code on this page with the camera app and tap the link that appears.

Tap the Share button
The Share icon is the square with an arrow pointing up. It's at the bottom-center of the screen on iPhone and the top-right on iPad.

Choose "Add to Home Screen"
Scroll the share sheet until you see this option. Tap it. Confirm the name on the next screen (it should say GCR Sentinel) and tap Add.

Find the icon on your Home Screen
GCR Sentinel will appear like any other app. Tap it to open. The browser bar disappears — it looks and feels like the App Store version.
iOS push notifications require iOS 16.4 or newer and that you open the app from the home-screen icon at least once. SMS, email, and Pushover work regardless.

Chrome handles the install in one tap.

Open Chrome on your phone
Most Android phones default to Chrome. If you use a different browser, install steps may vary.

Type the URL or scan the QR code on this page.

Tap the menu (⋮)
The three-dot menu lives in the top-right corner of Chrome.

Choose "Install app" or "Add to Home Screen"
Chrome will offer one of these labels. Tap it. Confirm. The app icon appears on your home screen and in your app drawer.

Common questions
Why isn't this on the App Store yet?+
GCR Sentinel is in soft launch. The full App Store and Play Store releases are queued behind platform review. In the meantime, the Add-to-Home-Screen install gives you the full app — same accounts, same alerts, same subscription path.
Is this safe?+
Yes. You're installing a website that we built and operate from our own domain (gcrsentinel.com). It runs in your phone's standard browser sandbox. We never ask for system-level permissions you wouldn't grant any other website — only the ones you explicitly opt into for alerts.
Will I have to reinstall when the App Store version launches?+
If you want the App Store version, yes — but it's optional. The web install will keep working after launch. Your account, subscription, and alert preferences carry over either way because everything lives in your account, not on the device.
Can I get push notifications without the App Store version?+
On iPhone (iOS 16.4 and newer), yes — but you must Add to Home Screen first, then open the app from your home screen icon (not from Safari) to receive push permission. On Android, push works directly. SMS, email, and Pushover alerts work regardless of how you installed.
What if I'd rather wait for the App Store?+
